A prototype machine designed to crimp flexible heat-shrink tubing for an earlier materials experiment. I wanted to automate a repeated fabrication step, but I do not recall getting the mechanism working successfully. I later dismantled it to reuse the servos.

A side view of the experimental tubing-crimping machine, showing its frame and moving mechanism. The project focused on exploring repeatable mechanical fabrication.

Another angle on the tubing-crimping prototype. It was designed as an experiment in automating a repetitive assembly operation.

A further view of the frame and mechanism of the experimental crimping machine. The project explored batch fabrication through a repeated mechanical operation.

An end view of the experimental crimping machine. Its purpose was to automate a repetitive fabrication step; successful operation is unconfirmed. I eventually took the assembly apart and salvaged its servos for other work.

Small chemistry-and-materials experiments exploring gas generation and sudden pressure release in flexible tubing. These were exploratory samples made to observe how the material responded.

Another sample from the earlier flexible-tubing experiments exploring gas generation and pressure release. It documents one of the small experimental pieces from that project.
